Hearing checks

If conversations are becoming harder to follow, an assessment can help you understand what to do next. Start with a conversation, an ear examination and a clear explanation.

Ask for a fee

A clearer picture of your hearing and next steps.

A hearing check is a different appointment from wax removal. We would first clarify your needs and explain the assessment and fee before arranging it. This demo does not sell hearing aids or make a diagnosis.

Questions about this service

Is this the same as wax removal?

No. Hearing checks consider your hearing more broadly. Wax removal may be discussed if an examination shows a build-up, but it is not assumed.

Do I need a referral?

For this sample private service you can ask directly. A clinician would discuss whether a GP or another service is more appropriate.

What if my hearing changes suddenly?

Do not wait for a routine appointment. The NHS advises an urgent GP appointment or NHS 111 for sudden hearing loss, hearing that worsens over days or weeks, or hearing loss with earache or discharge.

General information only. See NHS earwax guidance and NHS hearing-loss guidance for clinical information.
